Privacy
NowMyMail is designed so that you don't have to give us any data: there is no sign-up, no password and no account. Here is what we keep and for how long.
Messages
- Messages are kept only while their mailbox exists: they are deleted when you delete them or when the mailbox expires, 15 minutes after it was created. We don't keep copies.
- Mailboxes have no password: anyone who knows an address can read the messages in that mailbox while they exist.
- We block images loaded from other sites, so the sender can't tell when you open a message.
Records
- When you create or open a mailbox, or use the contact form, we record the date, your IP address and, where applicable, the mailbox name.
- When a message arrives, we record the date, the mailbox, the sender, the subject, the size and the IP address of the server that sent it.
- As with any website, our web server logs every visit: the date, the IP address and the page requested.
- To stop mass mailings, we also count how many messages each server sends. These counters are deleted after a few minutes of inactivity or, if the server has been blocked, after 24 hours.
We use these records only to prevent abuse, fix problems and know how many visits the site gets, and they are deleted after 90 days. We don't make backups: whatever is deleted can't be recovered. We only hand them over when required by a court order (item 4 of the terms of use).
If you write to us
If you write to us, using the contact form or at info@nowmymail.com or abuse@nowmymail.com, we receive your name (if you give it), your email address and your message by email. We use them only to reply to you or handle your report, and we keep them only for as long as needed for that.
Cookies
The site uses only the cookies it needs to work:
- casilla: remembers your mailbox and expires with it.
- idioma: remembers your chosen language for one year.
- csrf: protects the site's forms and is deleted when you close your browser.
We don't use any analytics tools. The only third-party cookies are Google's: those used by its ads (see "Advertising") and by reCAPTCHA.
To stop robots from creating mailboxes or sending messages, the home page and the contact form use Google reCAPTCHA, which receives your IP address and browser data, subject to Google's privacy policy.
Advertising
The site is supported by advertising. Ads are shown on the home page and on the information pages, never in the mailbox or on received messages.
They are served by Google, which, along with other vendors, uses cookies to serve ads based on your visits to this and other websites. If you are in Europe, the UK or Switzerland, we ask for your consent first. If you are in a US state with privacy laws, such as California, you can opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information using the "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" link shown on the site. You can turn off personalized ads in Google's Ad Settings and see how Google uses data from sites that show its ads.
Questions
If you have any questions about your data, write to us using the contact page.
