Frequently asked questions
- What is NowMyMail?
- A temporary email service: it gives you a disposable address to receive messages for 15 minutes, with no sign-up.
- Can I choose the mailbox name?
- No. The address is generated at random, so it's hard to guess.
- How long does the mailbox last?
- 15 minutes from the moment you create it. After that, the mailbox and all its messages are deleted, even if a message has just arrived. You can also delete individual messages before then.
- Can I extend the time or recover an expired mailbox?
- No. An expired mailbox can't be reopened. If you need another one, just create a new mailbox.
- Can I send emails from the mailbox?
- No, mailboxes can only receive messages.
- How many messages can a mailbox receive?
- Up to 9 messages of up to 60 KB each. That's enough for codes, confirmations and regular emails.
- Why didn't a message arrive?
- The message may be larger than 60 KB, the mailbox may have expired, or the sending site may not accept temporary addresses. Sometimes an email takes a few minutes to arrive.
- Can I receive attachments?
- Yes, as long as the message is within the size limit, but they can't be downloaded: only their name and size are shown.
- Why can't I see some images?
- We block images loaded from other sites, because they can be used to tell the sender that you opened the message. Images embedded in the message itself are displayed.
- Are my messages secure?
- No. Mailboxes have no password, and anyone who knows the address can read the messages while they exist. Don't use NowMyMail for personal or banking information, or for important accounts.
- Can deleted messages be recovered?
- No. Once messages are deleted, or once the mailbox expires, there is no way to get them back.
- What about spam?
- It goes to the temporary mailbox and disappears with it: your real address is never exposed.
- Is any kind of content allowed in messages?
- Yes, as long as it complies with our terms of use.
- What data do you keep?
- Only what's needed for the service to work and to prevent abuse. You'll find the details on the privacy page.
- What should I do if I find a problem?
- Let us know! We need to hear about any bug so we can fix it. Write to us using the contact page.
